For over 125 years Wheeler Mission has existed to help bring hope and peace into the lives of those experiencing homelessness, just like they did for my dear friend Susan. Susan was a guest of the Center for Women & Children at Wheeler, who passed away from lung cancer in 2013. This team raises money and awareness for ending the cycle of addiction, trauma, abuse and poverty in Indianapolis. Susan's wish was to live her life in peace and safety. Susan loved Wheeler and the peace it brought in her final months of life. The money that is raised is to help others who come to the shelter and to find the same peace she did. As we begin our 7th year raising money in Susan's honor, we remember all of the current women and children finding themselves in a similar situation.
